Mindful Earth Wellness is a self care company from Maine that creates small batch, organic plant based products to care for your mind, body and spirit. Originally from Scranton, Kelly Benson is excited to bring Mindful Earth Wellness back home to the ScrantonMade Holiday Market! We know we’re going to need some pampering after the market and can’t wait to try her Garden Goddess CBD Face Elixir and Bath Bombs!
When did you start Mindful Earth Wellness?
I started Mindful Earth Wellness about a year and a half ago. I am a medical marijuana caregiver in the state of Maine and at first was just serving my patients, but I really wanted to be able to serve the public community as well. Hemp derived CBD is a way I can legally offer the benefits of this incredible plant to the public. I also have a love for traditional herbal medicine and my main goal is to combine this with CBD. Plant medicine has served me so well since I started learning about it 6 years ago- it has played a huge role in my own personal healing – physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Once I started learning I was simply blown away by the power of the plants around us and realized that it will be a lifelong journey of deepening my relationship and knowledge of the plants.
Tell us a little about your products and mission.
My products are hand made in small batches with the intention of having a positive impact on peoples lives. I believe everyone can benefit in some way from plant medicine – there is literally a plant to support every possible health issue out there. My mission is to provide safe, effective, and enjoyable plant based products without the negative side effects that often accompany pharmaceutical medication. I use only local, organic, or sustainably harvested ingredients. Some of the plants in my blends I wild harvest myself. The Hemp I use is grown organically and processed right here in Maine – I use Maine beeswax for my salves and rubs and organic Maine distilled alcohol for my tinctures. Keeping my ingredients as local as possible and serving the community I am surrounded by is so important to me! Scranton is where I was born and raised until I left for college at 18 years old. I am determined to reach this community as well 🙂
What are you planning to have for sale at ScrantonMade Holiday Market?
A variety of topical products and tinctures. There is something for everyone – from chronic pain support to mental and emotional wellness to female reproductive support. Plants are so effective in treating these things. I will have an immune boosting Elderberry Elixir – which is basically natures flu shot! It has been studied and has been proven to be effective at treating the flu as well as preventing it when taken daily through cold and flu season. I will also have some CBD Bath Bombs, a couple of beauty/self care products and organic cotton t shirts with my beautiful hand-drawn logo on it.
Do you have a most popular item?
The Garden Goddess CBD Face Elixir is definitely a favorite. It is a blend of luxurious oils such as Rosehip, Carrot Seed and Pomegranate Seed – these oils I infuse with herbs that are antimicrobial, antibacterial and anti inflammatory. The ingredients in this blend have been shown to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, scars and redness; rejuvenate and repair damaged skin cells, and improve acne. Women have come back third and fourth times for this product. The Warming CBD Pain Salve is also a popular item as it it great for sore muscles and joints and supportive for those who suffer from chronic pain.
How about your personal favorite and why?
My personal favorite changes often – right now it is the Stress and Tension CBD Roll On, which is currently my newest creation!
Do you have any upcoming product development you are excited about?
CBD Bath Bombs. They are in high demand and are luxurious and relaxing.
Is there anything else you would like our readers to know?
Self care is the best health care. Putting energy and time to take good care of yourself and your body will be the most rewarding thing you ever do. Your body is your vehicle in this human existence on earth – care for it, connect to it, respect it and love it. When you care for your body your mind and spirit equally benefit.
