It’s time to meet some of the creative community partners that help make Arts on the Square such a dynamic & fun event!
DX Dempsey Architecture is creating an Interactive Installation that involves balloons & paint! What’s more fun than that? They’ll also be showcasing and spreading the word on the future Scranton Iron District plans!
What is the Iron District?
Scranton’s Iron District is intended to be a cultural and artistic link between the Downtown and South Scranton creating an important destination for heritage tourism as well as commercial activity. The Iron District represents a new future for the city, providing a venue that will combine history, culture, and entertainment in a diverse, mixed-use neighborhood.
Can you tell us a little about the inception of the Iron District idea?
The Project came about as a cumulative effort from a number of public entities who desire to better the city that we live in, to uncover our city’s beautiful past, and to celebrate that which makes Scranton unique.
Why do you feel that now is the time for this to happen in Scranton?
Now is always the time. Tomorrow will not be better for change because we desire to be better when tomorrow comes.
Were there any other cities that inspired this?
