Always Give A Scrap has been a ScrantonMade favorite for a while now… the detail, inspiration and love that artist Lisa Rosencrance puts into her work is, well, very inspiring! We’re most excited about the “Build Your Own Bouquet” flower market that she is creating for Arts on the Square!
Tell us a little about Always Give a Scrap.
Always Give A Scrap is a one-woman operation, based out of a home studio in
Dalton, PA. I was born and raised in Scranton, PA. All of our items are
handmade, using paper and/or recycled items, and custom orders are the most
popular type of orders. I love hunting for and finding old buttons, vases, jars, or
anything that I can put paper flowers in!
The flowers are so pretty and detailed. How did you get into paper cutting?
I have been crafting, drawing, painting, etc., since as far back as I can
remember. I’ve always had a passion to have my own business, and to be able
to incorporate who I am into doing what I love. I LOVE flowers (what girl
doesn’t), but unfortunately, I never developed the green thumb to keep them
When I got engaged in 2013, I wanted to find a way that I could personalize our
wedding, as well as preserve my flowers from that day. While developing a
paper floral plan for my wedding, I found that I really enjoyed creating the
flowers. That is where I got the idea to start Always Give A Scrap.
I see you do custom work as well. How can someone purchase custom work?
I absolutely love working on custom orders! My clients have the best ideas for
new items. Always Give A Scrap has created custom orders including
personalized wire name hangers (for weddings, graduations, dance recitals, etc),
custom printed flowers (including new baby names for hospital gifts,
grandchildren’s names for Mother’s Day, “Will you go to prom with me?” flowers,
first dance lyrics and sheet music for 1st wedding anniversary gifts, etc.)
Customers are able to choose custom color combinations and themes.
Custom orders can be placed through Etsy, social media sites (Facebook or
Instagram), or by email (firstname.lastname@example.org). Local pick-up is
available at On&On or the orders can be shipped!
What will you be featuring at AOTS?
This year, Always Give A Scrap featuring a “Build Your Own Bouquet” flower
market! What is that? It’s lots of various loose paper flowers and crepe paper
flowers to allow customers to build their own bouquets! In addition, I will have
paper succulents, paper succulent geometric and glass orb terrariums, paper
orchids, hanging paper flowers, and other various paper flower creations. Let me
know if there is something specific that you would like me to have on hand!
Do you have any other upcoming shows or projects?
Yes! I have been working on several weddings, showers, and events for the
Spring & Summer months as well as other various custom requests. In the Fall,
during our less busy season, I plan on participating in a number of local events
to showcase my work and network with fellow artists & crafters. In the meantime,
Always Give A Scrap’s pre-made items can be found inside On&On during store
hours. Custom orders can also be requested online and picked up at the store!
