Is your pet a trendsetter? If so, you’ve gotta check out the hip accessories by The Bearded Ladies & Co! The Bearded Ladies is a pet accessory company inspired by a miniature Schnauzer and a Kerry Blue Terrier! With their beautiful fabrics and innovative design, we knew they are gonna be a hit at Arts on the Square!
We love your name. Can you tell us how you came up with it?
The Bearded Ladies & Co is named after our two dogs, Lily (Miniature Schnauzer) and Dayze (Kerry Blue Terrier). They are truly Bearded Ladies! They are the reason I started making dog accessories!
Tell us the story of how you started your business?
I started my business as a need for myself and a desire to work from home or anywhere really and to be my own boss. I am from the Back Mountain, PA.
What types of products will you be featuring at AOTS?
I will be featuring my favorite product The TransFurable Traveler! It is my “Best in Show” being that it is my own creation and currently has a patent pending!
The TransFurable Traveler is a padded, fabric based, carrying case for a collapsed dog crate. The Traveler can be use to carry a collapsed crate, then as the bed for the crate and the handle and the strap will also make you a dog leash when not being used to secure the crate in the Traveler. While I don’t make it myself anymore, it is manufactured in Philadelphia!
I will also be selling handmade reversible dog bandanas as well as handmade original tote bags. They are truly original because no two are ever the same since I don’t use a pattern! Lastly, I will be selling dog collars, key chains, beds and CAT Mats!
What is the inspiration for your work?
The challenge (of the work) is what inspires me. I love challenging myself to see if I can bring my ideas to fruition. Being your own boss and trying to start a company from the ground up is a challenge all its own. Also, I have always been into fashion and design so creating dog accessories appeals to my creative side.
